Newly appointed MDC-T co-vice presidents Nelson Chamisa and Elias Mudzuri continue to get endorsements from party structures and rivals amid turmoil.

Party leader Morgan Tsvangirai has been under fire from a section of supporters and other senior party officials who view the decision as a ploy to side-line his long-time deputy, Thokozani Khupe.

Former Zanu PF Hurungwe West MP Temba Mliswa backed the move saying it was a" master stroke by president Tsvangirai".

"Youths should dictate the future while in office, something that was lacking in Zimbabwe.

"A party which resonates and supports young people will have full support of Yard. This is a master stroke by president Tsvangirai."

MDC-T provincial executives in Masvingo and Mashonaland West are backing the appointments.

According to media reports, Mashonaland West provincial chairperson Ralph Tawanda Magunje castigated party members who have filed a High Court application challenging the decision.

Tsvangirai has been sued by party members- Patson Murimoga who is well known for composing jingles for the party and George Rice.

They want the appointments declared null and void.

MDC-T Masvingo spokesperson Dusty Zivave also embraced the decision, saying the two would help the party reconnect with its grassroots structures ahead of the 2018 elections.
