President Robert Mugabe has been advised to invite #ThisFlag frontman Pastor Evan Mawarire for tea and trash issues out.
"He (President Mugabe) should invite leaders of #tajamuka and Pastor Evan Mawarire for tea and warm scones and talk things out" former ZANU PF legislator Temba Mliswa has suggested.
"He should listen to what they have to say rather than having them incarcerated or beaten up simply because they have tried to speak out. These men have seen something that the President is not seeing and those are issues they need addressed," Mliswa said in talking points of a press briefing Monday seen by Bulawayo24.com.
He said the 92 year old Mugabe is being misled by people around him who are always hiding the real picture of the sorry state of the economy from him.
Mawarire, the 39-year-old pastor of the His Generation Church in the capital city Harare, used social media to organize a nationwide "stay-away," a shutdown of schools, businesses and shops around the country.
Since any sort of government protest can be punished violently by the government.
Mawarire chose the national flag as the symbol of protest, along with the hashtag #ThisFlag. According to Mawarire, the Zimbabwe flag used to be a symbol of national pride, but today it is a symbol of endemic corruption, injustice, starvation, and poverty in the country.
