A faction of the war veterans is planning to stage a solidarity march and meeting to show their unwavering loyalty to President Robert Mugabe in Harare.

The march is set for Wednesday.

The veterans want to be seen as fully behind Mugabe's leadership.

They have put out press adverts announcing the meeting.

Last Thursday, the former liberation fighters denounced the Zanu-PF leader as a dictator.

They issued a damning communiqué, accusing Mugabe of dumping them and embracing party youths to drive his re-election campaign.

Zanu-PF National commissar Saviour Kasukuwere has threatened to grab farms from rebellious war veterans.

He said he had a list of farms they were targeting and would stop at nothing to repossess them.

According to reports, Kasukuwere made the threats on Friday against all war veterans linked to the meeting that denounced Mugabe's dictatorial tendencies.
