Residents concerned over abuse of funds city council

Harare residents are reportedly concerned over the the alleged abuse of funds by the local authority.
The concerns were revealed by the Harare Residents Trust which said residents are still waiting for the update on who was dismissed from City of Harare concerning procurement of fuel at Harare Water where 52000 liters of petrol worth US$70400 was misappropriated in 2015 on 13 separate days at 4000 liters per day.
The trust said the Supervisor intended to misappropriate orders plus the stock on hand (4814-7882 liters) were too large for the storage capacity at Harare Water Highfield petrol tank which has a capacity of 4000 liters.
"The Supervisor witnessed the loading of the fuel at the supplier's depot and signed the delivery notes but the fuel never got to Harare Water.The city of Harare management must not forget residents are the important stakeholders and they need to be informed in anything that involve the Ratepayers money," said the trust.
