President Robert Mugabe (92) has said he is not stepping down anytime soon.

He said he has the strength and zeal to lead for a long time.

Below is what he said :

I am created as president by the people, people of Zimbabwe.

If the party comes and say we want change, sure we will have that change.

If the party and the party overrides government you know, our policies override the policies of government, in fact the policies of government are derived from the policies of the party.

Once the party says you rest, fine.

Or if I ask the party that no I think time has come for me to rest, I will tell the party that.

But as long as the party still wants me to serve and if I still have the energy and , still have the life and blessings of God I will continue.

So its the people, the people, the people all the time over me.

That's the position.

Journalists those you are representing that Robert Mugabe is still here, well and strong.

My people will have me for yet some time.

Those outside who don't like me I say well that's your concern.

I say I don't mind it but don't please interfere with us, we are a free people and keep out of our country.
