Dinha's baptism of fire in parliament

Newly elected legislator Martin Dinha received a baptism of fire in parliament yesterday from MDC-T legislator on his maiden appearance.

Dinha was sworn in as Mazowe North Constituency yesterday.

Soon after that he was immediately grilled by Eric Murai.

"On a point of order. Thank you Mr. Speaker Sir. I would like to pose a question regarding the new Hon. Member, Hon. Martin Dinha.

"My question is, is he the one who is standing trial for the value of $40 000? – [HON. MEMBERS: Hear, hear.]".

That prompted Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda to call for order in the house.

"Order, order! Hon. Murai, please sit down. This is not a play ground. Hon. Members at the back there, can you take your seats? This is not a playground for small children, if you do not uphold your integrity as Hon. Members, we shall not allow that in future. Sit down, sit down please" shouted Mudenda.

That did not stop Murai from interrogating Dinha.

"Speaker, this is a serious matter which affects our economy".

However, Dinha was not give an opportunity to respond.

Dinha who is Mashonaland Central Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Martin Dinha amassing 12 573 votes last weekend to beat rival Elias Malukula who had 619 votes.
