Servicing of Clipsham housing stands to be completed by year-end

Work for the servicing of the Clipsham low density residential stands under the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe is on course and will be completed by year-end.

Construction of roads, storm water drainage, water reticulation are on schedule, said a spokesperson for the project in an interview with
Masvingo Mirror.

"Work is on schedule for completion by December 28, 2016. Currently overall weighted progress is at 52, 7% complete. The first eight km of the road is scheduled for surfacing in two weeks time; 15km of water pipes have already been laid, on completion the development will be fully serviced with 18,9km of water reticulation and 23.8km of surfaced roads and electricity reticulation," said IDBZ acting chief marketing and public relations officer Priscilla Zvobgo.

Clipsham Views has 771 stands including industrial, institutional and commercial and has become one of the busiest places of late in the City with construction vehicles working long hours to beat the deadline.

Clients pay 25% deposit for a stand and the remainder is paid in 10 years. Zvobgo also revealed that they are happy with the uptake of the stands which are mainly targeted at the low to medium earners.

The stands range in size from 1390 square metres to 2500 square meters and they are selling at US$13 per square meter.

"The bank has begun the disposal of stands and the uptake is according to our expectations given the prevailing market conditions," said Mapuranga.

Clipsham Views is located five kilometres from Masvingo CBD along Masvingo-Beitbridge road.
