People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Tendai Biti's supporters held an anti-government protest march in Bulawayo on Sunday, where they called on President Robert Mugabe to step down for allegedly failing to arrest the current economic meltdown.

PDP Bulawayo spokesperson Edwin Ndlovu said the march was in solidarity with "our suffering brothers and sisters who have been impoverished by Mugabe and Zanu PF over the past 36 years".

Ndlovu called on Mugabe to relinquish power and pave way for a transitional government to prepare the country for fresh elections.
