Panic grips Zimra staff countrywide

PANIC has gripped Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) staff countrywide as the revenue authority is preparing to redeploy workers to various stations in September, Bulawayo24.com can reveal.
The impending redeployment is said to be part of measures to curb corruption within the organisation that is prone to shady dealings.
" We were recently told that we should prepare to be transferred on September 1. No one knows his or her next work station and that has unsettled staff" said one worker.
"Bosses say most staff members are now too familiar with their current stations and are involved in corrupt practices with clients".
In May, Zimra transferred five senior managers from Beitbridge border post to other stations following a vehicle imports smuggling scandal that cost the parastatal millions of dollars.
Recently, Zimbabwe Republic Police brew a shocker by transferring more than 600 cops in Beitbridge in a major shake-up suspected to have been triggered by their alleged involvement in corrupt activities and failure to contain the July 1 riots involving cross-border traders.
