A couple went their separate ways after the wife gave birth to a baby girl instead of a son the hubby had expected. The hubby is now co-habiting with another woman, it is alleged.
Barbara Tsoka revealed in court that her husband Brighton is now co-habiting with his mistress because she only gave birth to girls. Barbara opened up at the Harare civil court where she was claiming US$363 as maintenance from Brighton.
"We got married in 2002 and we have two daughters, but he has now left our house because I am only giving birth to girls and not boys," said Barbara.
On her maintenance claim Barbara said she needed the money for the welfare of their minor kids. "I need the money so that I pay rent, buy food, medication and to pay school fees for our children," said Barbara.
Responding to the claims, Brighton said he was not in a position to pay the US$363, he offered to pay US$50.
"I have other responsibilities; I have another wife whom I am currently staying with and a child so I cannot afford to pay the money that she wants from me.
"I am prepared to pay US$50," said Brighton.
Magistrate Victoria Mashamba, who presided over the case, deferred ruling to today.
