Mombeshora secrectly flies into Chiredzi to look for land

Minister of Lands and Rural Resettlement Douglas Mombeshora secretly flew into Chiredzi recently to try and find alternative land for farmers given offer letters in land that is currently under Tongaat Hulett Estate.
Efforts to get a comment from Mombeshora were fruitless as his cellphone was not reachable.
A source from the Ministry confirmed that Mombeshora was in Chiredzi together with Masvingo Chief Lands Officer and many other officers from the lands office.
The Mirror understands that Mombeshora is in the district to try and get alternative land for the new farmers that he gave offer letters for plots that are inside Tongaat sugarcane fields.
Some senior Cabinet Ministers who felt that the Tongaat land issue was an economic time bomb insisted on putting the matter on Cabinet agenda during last week's meeting but Mombeshora allegedly calmed them down when he said the scenario had changed on the ground as he was now on a mission to look for alternative land.
Sources said he has a directive from President Mugabe to remove the farmers whose allocation on Tongaat land he, together with the Minister of State for Masvingo, Shuvai Mahofa.
