THE Zimbabwe Republic Police have brought in riot police details from around the country and deployed them in Harare where they are monitoring the on-going protests as a way of protecting local officers from being attacked by members of the public.
Senior ZRP officers told Newzimbabwe that there were fears that cops could be attacked by members of the public in the high density suburbs where they stay.
The Morgan Tsvangirai opposition party's youth wing said land lords should also evict police officers renting accommodation in high density suburbs.
Riot police have been indiscriminately beating up peaceful protesters in Harare and Bulawayo.
