EU investors cancel Zimbabwe visit over protests

Europe's top financiers have cancelled an investment meeting planned in Zimbabwe following recent clashes between police and protestors amid fears of the country slipping back into political instability.

EU Ambassador Phillip Van Damme said the current unrest has led to the reassessment of the Zimbabwe political situation.

The European Investment Bank was due to hold meetings in Zimbabwe as part of government's continuing reengagement efforts with the international community including financiers and investors.
