MDC-T murder sentencing postponed indefinitely

High Court Judge Justice Chinembiri Bhunu today postponed sine die (indefinitely) the sentencing of MDC-T members Yvonne Musarurwa and Tungamirai Madzokere and senior former party member, Last Maengahama who were convicted for the murder of a Zimbabwe Republic Police Inspector Petros Mutedza in 2011.
The trio were due to be sentenced today.
The State had proposed that the accused should be sentenced to a minimum of 20 years in jail, handed a death penalty or life imprisonment.
MDC-T described the conviction as unfortunate.
Meanwhile Phineas Nhatarikwa a former party employee who was convicted for being an accessory to the crime was granted bail by the High Court.
