Former detective found in possession of pangolin

Former detective and prominent figure in Chiredzi was last week arrested after he was found in possession of two pangolins.
Knowledge Masuku appeared before Chiredzi Resident Magistrate Constance Mutandwa last Friday and he was charged for possessing specified species.
The State led by Gladmore Gwara told the court that sometimes last week Police acting on a tipoff raided Masuku who is a former detective who was relieved of his duties for allegedly committing various offences.
Two pangolins were recovered at Chibwedziva and an arrest made.
Masuku who is being represented by Charles Vhudzi of Zimbodza and Associates pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Mutandwa remanded Masuku in custody to Tuesday this week for the start of trial.
