Wrong button written in Chinese, cause the death of a worker in Zimbabwe

An inexperienced worker at a Chinese brick moulding company allegedly pressed a wrong button written in Chinese, causing his colleague to be ground by a mixing machine.

The company, Mazowe Bricks Company (Pvt) Ltd, today appeared in court accused of causing the death of its worker, Greyston Damazio.

Cheng Yun appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Noel Mupeiwa on behalf of the company while Benjamin Chamboko, who allegedly pressed the wrong button, is on the run.

Cheng is facing a culpable homicide charge.

The matter was remanded to September 15.
