The fresh bail hearing for seven MDC-T activists who are facing charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View in May resumed at the High Court this afternoon before Justice Tendai Uchena.
Both the State and the defence lawyers raised preliminary issues in Justice Uchena's chamber on how to handle the hearing before the judge postponed the matter to Thursday, 01 December.
The seven activists are seeking leave at the High Court in order to approach the Supreme Court to appeal against their denial of bail in July by Justice Uchena who said the seven would flee the country.
The seven are; Glen View Ward 32 councillor, Tungamirai Madzokere, Rebecca Mafikeni, Phenias Nhatarikwa, Lazarus Maengahama, Stanford Maengahama, Yvonne Musarurwa and Stanford Mangwiro. They have been in remand prison since May.
Meanwhile, another bail hearing for Solomon Madzore, the MDC-T Youth Assembly chairperson who was arrested in October on the same false charge of murdering the police officer will be heard at the High Court tomorrow, Wednesday. He is detained at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.
Madzore and the other seven activists still in remand prison are part of 28 MDC-T activists who have been arrested in connection with the murder of the policeman. Others have since been granted bail.
