A workshop is being held today in Bulawayo concerning the issues of climate change amid revelations that the Zambezi River which is expected to a water project delivering water to Bulawayo is seriously vulnerable to climate change which might render the project a failure.

Rejoice Ngwenya, a  facilitator or Co-organiser of the workshop said  the workshop will deal with the  ‘Impact of Climate Change on Zambezi River Basin'.

"Remember there are mainly two ‘mysteries' we want to unravel: that even if river god Nyami-nyami is fact or fiction, the REALITY is that our formidable Zambezi River is as vulnerable to climate change as everyone else. Number two, how we, as civil society, policy makers and communities should respond to this inevitable challenge to mitigate the inevitable," he said.

" I just hope when you leave the workshop, you will have made up your mind whether or not Matabeleland North and Bulawayo will EVER (underlined) receive piped water from the mighty river!)"

The workshop will be held at the Cresta Churchill in Bulawayo.
