The MDC T National Youth Assembly Commander Happymore Chidziva has said the continued ruthless, cruel, harsh and unrelenting attacks by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) unarmed on defenceless citizens of Zimbabwe especial women shows how far Robert Mugabe is anti-people and geared to preside over more misery of Zimbabweans.
"We are in the clearly unfortunate position of having a heartless, callous and narcissistic man who uses the title of President of a country to brutalise the very people he is supposed to look after. Robert Mugabe once boasted of having degrees in violence. He has consistently demonstrated that he will stop at nothing to keep himself and his vain wife in power," he said.
He said what the citizens of Zimbabwe have been asking of his government is quite simple, that is to use the office that he occupies to run the country properly.
"His government must provide jobs, ensure availability of proper healthcare, pay salaries on time, stop the sickening factionalism on display in his government, eradicate corruption, the list goes on. Since he has failed to do that the citizens have taken to the streets to remind him of his duties," he said.
"What is the response to that? Sticks and batons on their backs, abductions and beatings in the middle of the night, malicious and politically motivated judgements and an escalated sense of fear among citizens. The people now live in constant fear of their government."
He asked if Robert Mugabe think that brutalising hungry Zimbabweans will make them quiet?
"Does he believe that arrests and abductions will somehow make food appear in the homes of families who have suffered for so long. We believe that Robert Mugabe has failed and failed dismally. He now sends hooligans in uniforms to stop people from demanding what is rightfully theirs. We can not let this go unchallenged the police officers who tortured those ladies must be arrested and failure to this the ZRP must be disbanded cause its an militia grouping tarnishing the emerge of Zimbabwe," he said.
"We remain convinced that the solution to these problems is the immediate and unconditional departure of Robert Mugabe. He must go now. He is a colossal failure and the sooner we are rid of him the better."
