Dangote warned against investing in Zimbabwe
21 Sep 2016 at 07:41hrs | Views
Exiled anti-president Robert Mugabe activist Evan Mawarire of #ThisFlag movement has warned Nigerian billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote against investing in Zimbabwe, saying government ministers will plunder his funds.
Dangote visited Zimbabwe and met Mugabe last year, with the intention to invest in a multi-million dollar cement manufacturing plant in the country. However, over a year down the line, the continent's richest man is yet to invest in the country.
Mawarire said he told Dangote that in Zimbabwe, ministers loot investors' money.
His remarks come as anti-government protestor Patson Dzamara has petitioned the World Bank not to bail out Zimbabwe because of escalating human rights abuses and repression on tent hands of Mugabe's regime.
