The Prosecutor-General's (PG)Office has asked lawyers representing director of public prosecutions Florence Ziyambi to formally assume agency in a case in which they are seeking a private prosecution certificate against the Zimbabwe National Army's Colonel Solomon Siziba.

Ziyambi, through her new lawyers, had written to acting PG Advocate Ray Goba seeking to be granted a private prosecution certificate since his office was refusing to prosecute the senior military officer on assault charges emanating from a clash in the office in 2015.

Siziba is the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) head of administration.

Suspended PG Johannes Tomana declined to prosecute, prompting his junior to seek private prosecution.
