All Bulawayo Councillors must step down, says MDC member

An MDC led by Welshman Ncube official Discent Collins Bajila has said it could not be only five councillors to blame for alleged corruption but all the 29 Councillors in Bulawayo must step down because they have let the residents down.

His Worship the Mayor of the City of Bulawayo (Martin Moyo) should have done the most dignified thing under these circumstances," Bajila said.

"The decision to unlawfully allocate land or whatever property couldn't have been a decision of the 5 suspended or the 19 yet to clear themselves. It's a decision of the full council. All the 29 must step down and accept that they have let the City down."

He said whosoever occupied the offices of Town Clerk and Director of Housing must also step down.

"They have a professional duty to advise City Fathers on procedures and a moral duty to refuse to implement unprocedural orders and directives," he said.
