Man fined for dagga possession

A man from Insuza has been fined $20 for possession of 22 twists of mbanje.

Danda Samson Tshuma (81) pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of mbanje when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove.

The magistrate convicted and sentenced him to pay $20 fine of serve five days in jail. The dagga was forfeited to the state.

The court heard that on September 16 this year police officers were on patrol when they were told that Tshuma was in possession of an illegal drug.  They went to his home in Insuza where they searched at recovered 22 twists of mbanje. This led to his arrest.
