Government is the best payer, says Minister Mupfumira

The government is the best employer in the country as it manages to pay workers, a minister has claimed.

In recent months the government has been struggling to pay restive workers on time.

Traditional pay dates have been drastically shifted.

The government now religiously announces new pay dates each month something unheard off in the past.

However, according to Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister Prisca Mupfumira government is the best payer.

" It would be irresponsible for someone to say the Government is paying late because we delay by a week or two," she said.

"The Government has been the best payer despite the depressed economy" she added.

Mupfumira boasted that some sections in the private sector are worse off.

She said workers go for months without pay.
