Arrested anti-Mugabe activists 'poisoned'

PRO-Democracy activist Linda Masarira has buttressed widespread claims that jailed activists are being injected with unknown substances.

Masarira said she suspect it could be poison.

She was recently released on bail after languishing in jail for three months.

In a newspaper interview, she said, "Silvanos Mudzvova was abducted and injected. I have seen a vendor Kudakwashe, brutally arrested and injected.

"Three people I was with in prison have also been assaulted and injected. Zanu PF has taken their brutality to the next level".

When asked what could be the substance, she said "We do not know. Maybe it is slow poison and we can only speculate for now until such time the substance is found and tested".

Countless activists have been jailed for taking part in sporadic street protests.
