Zinara mulls constructing concrete roads

The Zimbabwe National Roads Administration is exploring ways to adopt the construction of concrete roads in line with strategies other African countries have started implementing.

Zinara board chairman Albert Mugabe said that construction of roads using cement is one of the strategizes being mooted by the road administrator.

Concrete roads are said to have a bigger lifespan unlike roads constructed with bitumen. Roads construction experts therefore are of the view that the most important aspect about concrete roads is their capacity to curb corruption, durability and lower maintenance costs.
