Indonesia says it is considering investing in Zimbabwe's textile, tobacco and education sectors.

This came out after the Indonesian Ambassador, Mr Stephanus Yuwono paid a courtesy call on Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa at his Munhumutapa offices in Harare.

In an interview after the meeting, Ambassador Yuwono said his country is willing to work with the government of Zimbabwe in a number of sectors that include the textile industry, tobacco and education.

Ambassador Yuwono also said this is the second time that he has visited Mnangagwa to discuss issues to do with development and relations between the two countries.

Vice President Mnangagwa said Zimbabwe is making efforts to increase agricultural production and the coming in of investors will ensure the success of the value addition and beneficiation cluster under the ZIMASSET economic blueprint.

The cotton industry remains one area still lagging behind in terms of value addition due to lack of investment.

Indonesia is ranked among the top 10 largest textile producing countries with a significant number of people employed in the sector.
