Bulawayo splash on mayor's trip to Botswana

Bulawayo City Council could have spent close to $2000 on the mayor Martin Moyo to attend Botswana 50th Independence celebrations last week.

The City of Francistown  which BCC has a twinning arrangement with invited Moyo to the festivities.

President Robert Mugabe boycotted due to strained relations with President Ian Khama.

According to BCC latest report out today, the total cost was pegged at $1600.

Moyo and his chauffeur would have spent $796 on accommodation for three nights, $493 for transport and $311 for meals.

It was not immediately clear whether the mayor traveled to Botswana.
