Notorious CIO operative dies

Joseph Mwale ,the much fear central intelligence organisation, operative who was implicated in the gruesome murder of two of opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai's aides 16 years ago-has died.

The infamous spook died at the Harare Central Hospital on Tuesday after suffering a stroke. However it is believed that he had left active CIO service at the time of his death, although he was part of the "security" details that accompanied Tsvangirai to Chiadzwa diamonds field when the former prime minister in the inclusive government visited Marange in 2012.

But it is alleged that his role in the murder of Tsvangirai's aides Tichaona Chiminya and Talent Mabika in the run up to the 2000 national elections-who died from horrific injuries that they suffered when their car torched by a petrol bomb-that Mwale's name will be synonymous with.
