ZEC clogged with spies- chairperson says

ZIMBABWE Electoral Commission (Zec) chairperson, Justice Rita Makarau has admitted that the electoral body is very much militarised.
The management body is full of security personnel mostly intelligence agents, she told opposition parties.
However, Makarau said she can't fire the security services workers.
"The Zec chairperson admitted that there were members of the security services within Zec, but argued that Zec's hands were tied because these officers had contracts of employment with Zec," National Electoral Reform Agenda (Nera) head of legal affairs, Douglas Mwonzora said after a meeting with ZEC.
"She invited the political parties to address the legal issues on how to deal with these employees on the next meeting. A legal brief is thus being prepared for discussion in the next meeting".
On Monday, opposition Renewal Democrats of Zimbabwe (RDZ) called on ZEC to be dissolved and proposed that the United Nations (UN), Africa Union (AU) and Sadc should take over running of elections in the country.
