A SOLDIER, who was sued for child neglect, threatened to quit his job after he was ordered to pay US$80 per month for his two children's upkeep.
Wenslous Dehwe said he would rather be incarcerated or leave his job than pay maintenance.
He got angry after magistrate Barbra Mateko ordered him to pay US$80 as maintenance for his children.
Wenslous was escorted out of the court room by a police officer.
The soldier offered to pay US$30 for the two children because the woman is his wife and he stay with her. He threatened to quit his job and, "rather be in jail than be forced to pay maintenance for children he stay with."
His wife, Beatrice Chifamba claimed US$200 for the two kids arguing that Wenslous enjoyed spending his salary with girlfriend and would only return home penniless.
