Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has defended Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo following accusations of abuse of public funds by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC).

Zanu PF National Political Commissar Savior Kasukuwere also clarified that Professor Moyo's actions were above board.

Mphoko said the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission allegations against Professor Jonathan Moyo are invalid and outright lies bent on destabilising Zanu PF.

He told thousands of Zanu PF supporters at a rally in Norton constituency that Professor Moyo cannot be arrested for supporting the First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe's programmes and defend the legacy of President Mugabe.

Kasukuwere chipped in saying the availing of local funds towards youth and party activities by Professor Moyo was above board.

Professor Moyo and his deputy Dr Godfrey Gandawa are being investigated by ZACC on allegations of abuse of public funds from ZIMDEF for personal benefits.
