Higher Education minister Jonathan Moyo on Wednesday appeared in court on Zimdef fraud accusations but begged the magistrate for more time to get his papers in order.
Moyo and his lawyer Advocate Lewis Uriri appeared before Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo in chambers.
"I can confirm we appeared in chambers before Justice Matanda-Moyo and the matter was postponed to October 25 for hearing" Uriri is quoted saying.
Advocate Sylvester Munyaradzi Hashiti, instructed by Simon Mupindu of Mupindu Legal Practitioners, acting for Hardlife Mudzingwa said "The judge postponed the matter to allow Prof Moyo to file his papers".
"She also wants Zacc to respond to the amended provisional order. We are saying nothing can stop Zacc from proceeding with the matter against Minister Moyo if the investigations are complete and thorough as they claim."
On Wednesday, Bulawayo24.com revealed that Moyo had been served with papers to appear in court.
Moyo is accused of benefitting from close to $270 000 which was corruptly syphoned out of Zimdef by ministry and fund official.
Part of the money was used to procure bicycles for chiefs in Tsholotsho.
He claim the allegations are tribal motived.
