A political commentator has said the independent candidate, Temba Mliswa's victory in the Norton by-election will give Zanu PF pointers that it must regroup and strategise to win the 2018 elections in a rough manner.

"We will see and hear drums and congas being played in celebration of a Temba Mliswa win in Norton. Be reminded that Mliswa was denied a very important seat of Hurungwe, but Norton he got," said the commentator.

"I think this victory is a victory for Zanu PF. Opposition has been made to feel that one of their own indeed beat Zanu PF. But this was an election that pitted Zanu PF against itself and that Themba won will make some go quiet about the push for electoral reforms. Zanu PF has no problem with the Norton loss, it gives them a chance to regroup and restrategise."

He said opposition parties were used by Mliswa.

"He is now back in parliament and will continue to snare our people to relax and be comfortable with him, we will hear him thanking opposition parties that rallied behind him using the sweetest words ever. Those that thrive on character caressing will enjoy the attention and forget to drive the agenda on the table," he said.

"By supporting Mliswa, a zanu pf son, who has blood of opposition cadres on his hands, we have sent a message to the world that we do not care for justice for our cadres. That will discourage many who will move away from such rotten politics and opposition votes and support will be affected. Now Mliswa has accomplished mission number 1 to be the darling of opposition. He is a baboon with make up now. No one will worry about his human rights violations as a desperate cabal of democratic fools believe this is a victory for opposition."

He said Joice Mujuru is meanwhile dividing opposition on the other side. Do not underestimate Zanu, it did its homework before "firing" its big guns. The plan is working now.
