The National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA's) has said nothing showing that Norton legislator Temba Mliswa's victory was a "result of free, fair and credible elections."

NERA national organising committee chairman Joelson Mugari said there were many irregularities during last Saturday Norton by-elections.

"The victory of an opposition candidate does not explain or justify the level of electoral field.

"It is actually the unity of purpose that made the results we see today and not forgetting Mliswa's hard work."

The ruling party lost a by-election in Norton for the first time since 1980.

Zanu PF's Ronald Chindedza lost to independent candidate Mliswa.

Mliswa garnered 8 927 votes against Chindedza's 6 192.

He added "We are not sleeping and relaxing for we know exactly what we are demanding from ZEC. Nothing has, so far, shown that Mliswa's victory was a result of free, fair and credible elections.

"We actually witnessed a lot of irregularities which will be available to the public after we finish compiling our Norton by-election report," said Mugari.
