Whites are better rulers says Oppah Muchinguri

The current crop of traditional chiefs are worse than former white colonisers, Environment minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has said.
Muchinguri-Kashiri said the current crop of "chiefs are giving us problems by giving land in areas that are not suitable for human settlement"
"We say whites were bad but they knew how to settle people.
"But now we say we are free yet we are destroying our trees, settling on wetlands and engaging in all sorts of environmental degradation. We really need a paradigm shift".
Construction of housing units and commercial buildings has become a thorny issue especially in Harare over the past few years.
More than half of the capital is built on wetlands but soon there could be nothing left as development, urban agriculture and pollution threatens their very existence.
