Sunway City MOU signed

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the construction of Sunway City has been signed between the government and the Gansu Construction Group of China.

Officials from the office of the President and Cabinet, the private sector and the visiting Chinese National Development and Reform Commission held a production capacity building and investment forum to take stock of progress made so far towards the fulfillment of the Look East Policy.

Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Retired Colonel Christian Katsande said the MOU marks the practical implementation of various economic deals between the two nations.

Gansu Construction Group President, Dr Su emphasised the importance of infrastructure development as a necessary framework to attract more investment.

Zimbabwe Investment Authority (ZIA) Chairperson, Mr Nigel Chanakira told the Chinese delegation to take advantage of the special economic zones law to identify possible areas of investment.

The investment and business forum discussed investment climate opportunities and projects in line with special economic zones and partnership arrangements between Zimbabwe and China.
