Harare Water works employees have gone on strike with effect from October 24 demanding their over due salaries.
Harare Residents Trust said said the Harare Water employees are on strike since last Monday.
"From the interviews conducted by HRT, the workers' grievances are: no salaries for the past eight months. When they approached the Human and Capital Director Cainos Chingombe, he allegedly told them that the City money is being used to finance Zanu PF by-elections and the conference to be held in December 2016," said the trust.
The workers said 40% from monthly collections which must be given to Harare Water has been reduced to 20%.
They also accused the in house fighting for Directorship as affecting service delivery.
"They said Councillors and other senior Officials are sabotaging Engineer Hosiah Chisango as they prefer Engineer Simon Muserere," said the trust.
