A political commentator Vince Musewe has said the purpose of the National Transitional Authority (NTA) was to make micro and macro economic reforms among other host of developmental programmes of the country which has been seriously run down by the ruling Zanu PF.
Musewe said there are ten responsibilities of the NTA.
He said NTA will implement an economic recovery plan, this will entail sourcing of funds for infrastructural development and putting in place micro and macro-economic reforms.
"NTA will create employment, reopen industries and offer assistance to distressed companies, begin the process of national healing and reconciliation and open dialogue between all sectors in society, and through dialogue foster openness and respect," he said.
Musewe said NTA will remove the instruments of fear and oppression that have been used by the government of Zimbabwe throughout the last 36 years.
"NTA will provide justice for victims of political violence and abuse.
8. To mend the break down in the social contract between the state and the people, and between the people themselves, ensure peace and stability in the possibility of a post Mugabe Zimbabwe," Musewe said.
Musewe said the NTA has the ultimate responsibility to create the conditions for free fair and legitimate elections.
He said to ensure that A NTA becomes a reality they will increase mobilization and consensus building with the citizens, increase pressure on the Zanu PF government to negotiate with the citizens and to engagement of all key stakeholders domestically ie Civil Society Organizations, labor movement, social movements, the church and political parties etc.
Musewe said engage and seek the support of SADC and AU and negotiations for NTA modus operandi with citizens and other groups will be drafted.
He said parliamentary ratification of agreed and negotiated NTA Plan.
