Fraud accused Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo has put a brave face today saying 'things often get worse before they get better'.
Moyo handed himself over to the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (Zacc) and was questioned for several hours after which the commission released him into the custody of his lawyers, pending a court appearance today.
This morning (Thursday) he took to twitter to say "Public officials like me who've taken the oath to uphold the Constitution & the laws of Zimbabwe have a duty to do so & to be seen to do so!
"In matters of truth & justice things often get worse before they get better!".
He later added "It feels like being summoned by lions to their den!" in apparent reference to ZACC.
The corruption commission summoned Moyo for questioning over the allegations last month but he refused and reportedly evaded arrest while attending a Zanu PF politburo meeting on October 5.
He is accused of defrauding ZIMDEF - a department in his ministry of close to $400 000.
Charges levelled against the Zanu PF politburo member include claims that he used ZIMDEF funds to acquire motorbikes and bicycles for the traditional leaders in his constituency.
He claimed that the allegations were part of a tribalism-inspired vilification campaign by a Zanu PF faction reportedly led by vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa.
