On 03 November 2016, Amagugu International Heritage Center (AIHC),
curtesy of Lupane State University (LSU), hosted Professor Gordon
Bronitsky, a visiting Professor at the University.
Prof Bronitsky comes from the United States of America and is seconded to LSU through the Fulbright Scholar Program.
Prof Bronitsky founder and president of Bronitsky and Associates, dba IndigeNOW!
He
was trained as an archeologist and anthropologist and received his PhD
in anthropology from the University of Arizona in 1977. He loves working
with Indigenous artisans and musicians to craft unique experiences of
contemporary Indigenous cultures.
Amagugu posted on its Facebook wall that talking to AIHC Director Pathisa Nyathi, Prof. Bronitsky said there are vast similarities between the way the Ndebele people lived and some practices of the Navajo Nation of Arizona in the United States of America.
"He highlighted possible areas of cooperating between fellow American Artists organisations and AIHC. After touring the Cultural Center and holding fruitful discussions with the Director, Professor Bronitsky joined AIHC in a meal of isitshwala and roasted meat," reads the post.
"He leaves for the US in a few days and we look forward to hosting him again soon!"
