Harare Council in move to ban pirate taxis

Harare City Council has engaged in rapid results approach to ban the pirate taxis popularly known as Mushikashika.
this was revealed by the Harare Residents Trust through its Facebook Wall.
The City of Harare introduced the Rapid Result Approach (RRA) to ban 'Mushikashika," said the trust.'
"The commuter omnibus operators have been given 100 days to vacate from undesignated pick up points.The City of Harare is expecting operators of commuter omnibus to be in designated ranks by 24 January 2017.The mushikashika pick points like Mbuya Nehanda, Julius Nyerere, Jayson and Nelson Mandela have become life threatening roads for residents in Harare Metropolitan province."
The trust said the traffic arm of Zimbabwe Republic Police(ZRP) have became of nonentity as they accept bribery from the operators.
"They have indicated porous nature of the law in Zimbabwe.The cat and mouse game by police officers and commuter omnibus operators have caused death and injuries of innocent civilians.Residents have the right to an environment which is not harmful to their lives," said the trust.
