Council employee sentenced to 8 months in jail

Guruve - Mvurwi Town council employee Last Chiripanyanga was slapped with eight months jail term for seven counts of fraud by Guruve magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka this afternoon (Friday).
Chiripanyanga will serve an effective 4 months after 4 months were suspended on condition he does not commit a similar offence in the next 5 years.
In passing sentence the magistrate indicated that unlike his accomplice who is serving community service a custodial sentence was the only appropriate sentence as the accused had previously evaded justice.
