MTHWAKAZI Liberation Front (MLF), a secessionist party agitating for a separate Matabeleland State has vowed never to participate in Zimbabwe's elections as doing so would be solemnising the evil actions of Zanu PF over the people of Mthwakazi.

MLF spokesperson Crispen Nyoni said the party has been inundated with calls and messages of people asking whether it would be taking part in the country's elections in 2018.

He said the enquiries came after another Mthwakazi party, the Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) purportedly made indications that it might be participating in the next elections to gauge its support in the region.

"To clear the air with regards to the MLF position, it has been one of our founding objectives that MLF shall not partake in any Zimbabwean elections and it is still like that," Nyoni said.

"There are several reasons that were proffered then which are still standing firm to date. MLF believes that there is no need to partake because doing so is equal to solemnising the actions of Zanu PF over the people of Mthwakazi."

Nyoni added: "It will be like submitting to Zanu PF and its system. It confuses the people as it will split votes among all pro-Zimbabwe establishments from Mthwakazi and render Mthwakazi people as a confused lot."

Nyoni said the move to shun elections is premised on the fact that they are always rigged and the rigging machine will project results that Zanu PF will use to castigate proponents of restoration agenda as a failed project.

"That is betrayal of the ideals that all Mthwakazi people are fighting for. Partaking may legitimise an illusion that people have rejected restoration," Nyoni said.

He said non-participation in any Zimbabwean election is a sign of refusal to be presided over by President Robert Mugabe's corrupt regime that perpetrated the Gukurahundi massacres.

"We shall deal with that in our holy restoration star rallies in Mthwakazi – that will set the best epic step towards the holy restoration agenda," Nyoni said.

"The Zimbabwean election period will be used by MLF for broadcasting restoration agenda and educating our people about restoration by holding rallies across the breadth and width of Mthwakazi nation."

He said the capture of Mthwakazi by the "Lucific black colonialists in Zanu PF" must be exposed and put to an end.

"Partaking is agreeing that we recognise and uphold the electoral laws of Zimbabwe. MLF understands the importance and independence of electoral processes, but it won't participate in elections of neighbouring Zimbabwe," Nyoni reiterated.

MLF, Nyoni said, will participate in a referendum where it will decide its own destiny without interference from Zimbabwe.

He said the unitary Zimbabwe is a British creation so that Mthwakazi continues to be ruled through its proxy, the Zimbabwean government, which hasn't even repealed Matabeleland Order in Council of 1894.
