The clerk of Parliament, Austin Zvoma has dismissed claims by MDC legislators that he is incompetent. According to Zvomba the allegations are baseless and shallow, the formations have no power to fire him.
Responding to allegations by some MDC-T legislators that he is failing to uphold professionalism in executing parliamentary duties, Mr Zvoma described the claims by the legislators as baseless and unfounded.
Zvoma reminded the MDC parliamentarians that they do not have the power to fire him or even pass a vote of no confidence since his post is a constitutional appointment.
MDC-T MPs on Tuesday called for the dismissal of Clerk of Parliament, Austin Zvoma, alleging that he does not respect legislators.
The party's House of Assembly representative for Hwange Central, Brian Tshuma, gave notice to move a motion to that effect, saying Zvoma was not conducting himself professionally.
The motion is now set for debate when the House resumes sitting next Tuesday.
Zvoma said he has no bone to chew with parliamentarians and it is unfortunate that some MDC legislators lack depth on how the August House operates, adding he has contacted his lawyers to file a lawsuit against the lawmakers for bringing his name into disrepute.
