20-years for lustful landlord

A SEX-MAD 53-year-old landlord from Dzivarasekwa 2 has been sent to jail for 14 years for raping his tenant's 14-year-old daughter. Robson Tambu had pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape when he appeared before Harare regional magistrate Daniel Shonhiwa but was convicted after a full trial.
It was proved that sometime last year, Tambu entered the room where the minor was sleeping with other girls and took her to his room where he placed her on the bed. He reportedly threatened her with death if she raised alarm. Tambu then stripped and raped the minor. He is said to have repeated the heinous act on the minor twice, while inducing fear in her, threatening her not to divulge the matter.
The matter came to light when the minor's mother got wind of the news from her neighbours who were gossiping about the matter. She then questioned her daughter who at first was reluctant to open up on the issue. She later admitted and narrated the whole story to her mother. A report was made and the cruel Tambu was arrested.
The court condemned Tambu's actions saying he had betrayed the trust which was upon him as the minor saw him as her grandfather. He was slapped with a total of 20 years imprisonment, 10 years on each count before six years were set aside for four years on condition of good behaviour. Tambu will cool his sexual desire for the next 14 years while in prison.
