MBARE - Sex vendors are facing difficult times in Mbare Majubheki suburb as they have reduced their charges from $2 to a dollar due to economic hardships.

Thigh vendors now work 24 hours a day standing in front of their small houses waiting for potential customers.

Sex workers who spoke to Bulawayo24.com said competition is now stiff hence the reduction of prices to clasp more clients.

"Our industry is now stiff as almost every woman in Majubheki now resort to prostitution l'm sure you know what that means the more the product the lesser the price," laughed amai Jimmy.

Another thigh vendor identified as Betty said a dollar was affordable to most youths who are their major clients.

"Hazvibatsire kudhurisa iko mari yacho kusina saka zvirinane kuwana pane kushaya."(It is better to charge less money half a loaf is better than nothing,") explained Betty.

Mbare is a high density suburb and prostitution is on the increase with a lot of school leavers joining the trade.

Drug abuse is also mushrooming in the suburb and many ghetto youths have found solace in music  commonly known as Zim dancehall.
