MDC-T to raise funds to assist political violence victims

The MDC-T is planning to hold a dinner to raise funds to assist victims of political violence and its members subjected to alleged State harassment.

Party leader Morgan Tsvangirai will be the guest of honour at the fundraising dinner.

The dinner will come weeks after Zanu-PF squeezed out nearly $4 million from corporates at a fundraising event for the ruling party's forthcoming annual conference set for Masvingo next month.

MDC-T secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora said there was nothing unusual about the fundraising dinner which was expected to take place at the beginning of the month.
