The ruling Zanu PF has reportedly embarked on voter registration education exercise in Muzarabani North at the same time informing the electorate that the party has come up with mechanisms to know which party one would have voted for as the elections will be taking place in the country in 2018.
Heal Zimbabwe Trust reported that on 10 November 2016, Zanu PF District chairperson, Tapiwa Mubayiwa called for a meeting at Muzarabani Growth point.
"At the meeting, he announced that Zanu PF has started a voter registration exercise in all the wards in Muzarabani North," said the trust.
"Mubayiwa advised people that they should comply when they are approached by Zanu PF youths stationed in their wards who are carrying out the voter registration exercise. He also warned that all opposition party supporters should never expect to receive any food aid or agricultural inputs from Government."
The trust said Mubayiwa also announced that Zanu PF has adopted a new system ahead of the 2018 elections that ensures that they know the political party one would have voted for.
"He also announced that Zanu PF has so far completed registering people in villages such as Muringazuva, Mushinye, Kanyayi and Kapembere. During the meeting, Zanu PF youth were writing down names of everyone present at the meeting," said the trust.
