Farewell party for 'stiff' maintenance magistrate

The staff at Guruve magistrates courts have organised a farewell party for their magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka today (Saturday) after she was transferred to Goromonzi in Mashonaland East province.

Chakanyuka worked in Guruve for four years and she was well known for punishing rebellious men who defaulted payment maintenance.

Unconfirmed reports say a new magistrate is coming from Manicaland province to replace Chakanyuka at Guruve courts.

Meanwhile, transfers for magistrates and prosecutors are prevalent in Zimbabwe in a bid to curb corruption an insider has confirmed.
